Amisha Patel
The overnight star made by the film Kaho Na Pyaar Hai, Amisha Patel was born on 9th Jun 1979. Amisha is granddaughter of the famous Indian lawyer Rajni Patel. & daughter of Amit Patel & Asha Patel. She is graduate in Economics from Tufts University, Boston, US. She also trained in classical Indian Bharatnatyam dance.
Her first film made her star. She had wonder success in her next film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha with Sunny Deol. After this two giant successes she had to face failure period with a series of flop films at Box office. Now she got reviews for her work in Aamir Khan’s recent hit film, The Rising.
Her name is clubbed with her parents name Ami[t] and [A]sha. She was brought up by her grandmother Nani. She grew up speaking three Indian languages Hindi, Guajarati and Marathi. She have a strained relationship with her parents and brother, Ashmit Patel (her brother?s name is also clubbed with their parents name ; Ash[a] and [A]mit).
Amisha Patel has bagged numerous awards till date including, Kalashree “Sensational Discovery” for Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai in 2000, Lux Zee Cine Awards “Best Female Debut”, Sansui Viewers Choice Award “Best Debut / Face of the Year”, Filmfare Special Performance Award, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha , 2001.
